Sandisk launches the versatile iXpand USB 2.0/Lightning Drive to expand iPhone, iPad data storage capacity

Sandisk launches the versatile iXpand USB 2.0/Lightning Drive to expand iPhone, iPad data storage capacity:

Without an organic internal microSD just like the other handsets and tablets that run the Android operating system, mobile users with iPhones and iPads will have to make a decision of expanding their data storage capacity to 16 GB, 64 GB or 128GB (that comes with a dizzying $ increments) or search for other means to shore up their handset’s storage space.

Data storage provider SanDisk has just whipped up an innovation to expand storage capacity with the unveiling of the iXpand USB 2.0/Lightning Drive that can act as a USB and an added data storage device that is a perfect fit for both iPhone and iPad. The novelty device comes with a USB 2.0 connector that has an Apple Lightning connector on its tip.

Along with the 2-in-1 device, phones that run the iOS can be able to perform file transfers and can act as backups with relative ease if they opted to use SanDisk’s free iXpand Sync app. With the app, users will also be able to organize their videos and photos on their flash drive as well as they can opt for having their files password-protected.

The must-have iXpand USB 2.0/Lightning Drive comes with impressive features but this lovely device is not easy on the pocket though. Sandisk’s regular 16 GB flash drive or a USB 3.0 are pegged at $10, the price of the iXpand is fetched at an entry-level (16 GB) price of $59.99. The prices of the32 GB and 64 GB versions are fetched at $79.99 and $119.99 respectively.

Sandisk had also announced that its latest offering will make their first release at Best Buy stores. The 32 GB will go on sale today. If you want this expensive yet very versatile drive to land in your hands right away, you may buy it at Sandisk.com.
